with yellow and gold aspens. During most of the winter the peaks are capped
with snow . During an average winter the valley gets enough snow to water
the grasslands for the summer and provide one month or more of perfect
cross-country skiing. The
Navajo peaks rise up out of the San Juan mountains and provide the source
waters for the Navajo River. The Navajo River winds its way out of the
mountains through the middle of the Chromo valley and is renowned for
its great fishing and clear waters. The Navajo River is about 1 mile from
